5. Jakarta, Indonesia:

Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, is fifth on the list of worst cities for IT professionals. Though the people of Jakarta are some of the friendliest, most pleasant people one can ever encounter, the city is rated second on the riskiest place to work for workers, as per the reports as ORC Worldwide, a global human resources firm.

Other issues that bug Jakartans and put the city among worst cities are disease, sanitation, severe pollution, terrible traffic, political violence, repression, crime, and most of all lack of appropriate medical facilities, as reported on Businessweek.com. Also the threat of Islamic extremists is a serious drawback to live in this city.

6. Riyadh, Saudi Arabia:

The next worst destination for techies is Riyadh, the capital city of Saudi Arabia. As per the survey conducted by Businessweek and ORC Worldwide, political violence, repression, unfavorable political and social environment are some of the major issues faced by the capital city of Saudi Arabia. Other drawbacks include ongoing threat of terrorist attack and restrictions of movement, dress, conduct, alcohol, food, communication and travel, as per the survey.
