4. Beijing, China:

Beijing, the capital city of China, is fourth on our list of worst destinations for IT professionals.

Beijing, the second largest city in China, after Shanghai, also figures among the cities with worst traffic congestion in the world. This city with a population of over 19.61 million is also facing severe environmental issues such as smog, high pollution rate and severe degradation of natural resources, which is having adverse effects on the health of its residents.

In addition, the reports of torture, arbitrary detention, human rights violation and denial of basic freedom of speech, religion and press are obstructing IT professionals from relocating to this city. Suspicion and constant fear among people, are other significant hurdles. Recent incidents such as allegations of government hacking into systems of IT companies and IT giant Google threatening to pull out of China due to censorship issues have also acted as deterrent.
