With a cost of education that is approximately equivalent to 51 percent of GDP per person in the country, this west Asian state is the most expensive nation for higher education on the continent and fourth overall in the world.  

3. United Kingdom

Annual cost of living: $11,034

Total annual cost: $30,325

With the cost of education crossing $30,000, United Kingdom is the second runner up in the list of most expensive nations for higher education in the world.

UK’s image of being a student-friendly nation that offers excellent quality of education has taken a hit lately. Recession and subsequent repercussions has had a negative impact on the cost of education and intake of students significantly. As per a report published by BBC in May this year, there has been a massive drop in the number of student visas issued by UK in 2013.
