6. Singapore

Annual fees: $14,885

Annual cost of living: $9,363

Total annual cost: $24,248

Singapore is the second highest ranked entry from Asia in the list. It is slotted at number six. With one of the lowest crime rates on the planet and high standard of living, Singapore continues to be viewed as a hot cherry and attracts thousands of young aspiring minds in search of quality education year over year.

With a view to cash-in on the growing popularity, government of Singapore has made plans to host 1.5 lakh international students by 2015. However, with the ever increasing cost of higher education, it is to be seen whether they will be successful in reaching this objective.

5. Canada

Annual fees: $18,474

Annual cost of living: $7,537

Total annual cost: $26,011

With one of the highest tuition fee in the world, it is no surprise that this North American nation has emerged as the fifth most expensive country for higher education in the world.

Yes, students have to shell out a meager sum for a living compared to the other European or Asian counterparts in the list, but the higher tuition fees doesn’t necessarily add to the attractiveness of Canada as a educational destination.
