2. Vijay Kumar:



The current shining star among all the Indian Olympians, ace shooter Vijay Kumar has gained the center of attraction throughout the country after he made India proud by finishing of his campaign by bagging a silver medal in the 25m rapid fire pistol event at the ongoing London Olympics. Vijay hails from Barsar village of the Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh. He works for the Indian Army as the Subedar from the past six years and he is the son of former Subedar Banku Ram who also served in the Indian Army before he retired.

Apart from winning silver medal in the ongoing Summer Olympics, he is also recognized for his multiple gold medal win at the Commonwealth games that was held in New Delhi in 2010. Vijay Kumar is also supported by the Olympic Gold Quest initiative started by Indian sports icons Prakash Padukone and Geet Sethi. So, after his achievement in the London Olympics he has all the chances of getting a job at the Sports Authority of India [SAI] at the IAS officer’s level.
