1. Krishna Poonia:



Krishna Poonia, who represented India in the ongoing London Olympics as one of the star performer among all those who got selected to this prestigious event, ended up in the seventh place in the women’s discus throw event. Though she ended up in the seventh place, she expressed happiness for her good performance in the entire event. Krishna’s recent best personal performance was 64.76 meters that she achieved in Hawaii, United States. This is considered to be the new national record.

When it comes to her personal life, she lives in Jaipur with her husband Virender Singh Poonia, who is also a former athlete. The couple works for Indian Railways to earn their living, apart from Poonia participating in training sessions every time. She has also studied Sociology as the major subject at Kanodia Girls College, Jaipur. For her present credit, she is one among the few Indians who entered final round of track and field events.
