Lying On Your Resume Could Cost You Your Job!

The survey also revealed that the top three facts that most job applicants usually lie about are the name of the employer, employment record and the tenure of employment. 4.3 percent of the respondents feel that most job applicants provide fraudulent records about the name of the employer, 3.2 percent think that candidates generally provide fake employment records and 2.5 percent believe that candidates stretch their tenure of employment to grab the limelight.



Also 84.1 percent of the respondents have revealed that they have come across candidates who have misrepresented the facts on their resume or job application, whereas 15.9 percent of them responded that they have never experienced such kind of frauds. Also, 82 percent of the respondents have claimed that they would terminate the contract of the employee immediately if they find any kind of misrepresentations or red flags in the job application.



Approximately 77.3 percent of the respondents feel that 1-10 percent of the job applicants lie on their resume to land a job, 3.4 percent think that generally 11-20 percent of the job applicants lie on their resume, while 3.4 percent believe that 21-30 percent of the candidates provide fraudulent data. 3.4 percent think that above 30 percent fudge job application, while 12.5 percent have responded that none of the job applicants have lied or provided false records in a pursuit to land a job.
