LinkedIn further measured the degree to which talent and organizations adapt to changing circumstances in 11 countries that include the U.S., UK, Australia, Germany, Brazil, and Netherlands. At 85, Netherlands is the most adaptable market across the globe, and the UK, Canada, Singapore and the U.S. standing at the second, third, fourth and fifth positions with 67, 61, 57, 57 scores, respectively. India’s adaptability score is 34, which is right ahead of China that has the lowest adaptability score of 23.

The lower scores of Brazil, India and China are considered taking into account the lack of sector diversity- in developing markets and also stated that small number of sectors tends to dominate the workplace in these countries, so skills tend to be more concentrated.

The report also specified the net migration, which stated that off late Brazil, India and China have seen lot many people leave their home countries nations than they arrive back Although this may even slow or reverse as their domestic economies continue to develop, according to the report.

Nishant Rao, country manager, LinkedIn India said, “The reasons for a lower adaptability score for India could also be explained by inhibitions linked to lateral moves across sectors and the lack of an inherent flexibility in moving to different job roles across sectors. This could be due to societal expectations and perceptions which favour a linear career path.”
