#6. Audiologist:

These professionals specialize in communication science and disorders. Audiologists basically diagnose hearing complexities and other balance disorders. They use various instruments to measures hearing loss, determine its root cause and develop a treatment plan that takes into account the impact of the disorder / disability with regards to the patient. Most of these professionals work in healthcare settings, while some opt to work in schools or educational environments.

Communication skills are a key to success in this field, as audiologists must be able to communicate clearly so that patients understand their issues and the treatment mechanism. Patience and critical thinking are other essential traits for this profession, especially when a first line of treatment does not bring about the desired results.

The biggest advantage of opting for this profession is the pleasant work environment and good work-life balance, as most audiologists maintain their own practice and set their own schedule.

The stress score for this profession is 9.35 and most audiologists earn an annual income of approximately $66,660.
