3. Self-Deception: Many times, it is seen that if a lie remains uncorrected for a long time, people tend to believe it’s true. A San Diego based psychiatrist named David Reiss suggests that people lie and after a certain point of time start believing it themselves. According to David, these powerful executives have the habit of lying long back before they were powerful because they lacked confidence at that point of time, after reaching the top level positions they did not take the pains of correcting those lies as they thought that they will never get caught and be held responsible for their dishonesty.
