7. Manufacturing:



Manufacturing sector is slowly but surely emerging as the leading sector on the national economic space. The manufacturing sector of India accounts for about 16 percent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). This sector is a vital component of the development model, which ensures sustainability of the entire economy and facilitates adequate employment opportunities.



Strong talent pool in technology, science and research, along with lower labor rates in India are certain factors that give the country a lot of scope to propel its manufacturing sector immensely.



In the year 2012, the manufacturing sector accounted for about 20,400 new jobs opportunities in the country.



8. Engineering:



The engineering sector is the largest segment and the highest foreign earner in the Indian economy. The major employers within the engineering sector include machinery & instruments, primary and semi finished iron & steel, non-ferrous metals, steel bars & rods, electronic goods and project exports. This sector employs over 4 million skilled and semi-skilled workers across the Indian subcontinent.



The engineering sector in India hired around 18,650 employees the year 2012.
