6. Financial Services:

Financial services sector in India has posited a stable growth curve over the past few years. Driven by the sound fundamentals, corporate restructuring, rising personal incomes, financial sector liberalization, growth of a consumer-oriented and credit-oriented culture, this sector has managed to reach new heights and create new employment opportunities. Coupled with the soaring demand for financial products and financial services, this sector has become the leading light of the booming Indian economy.

Backed by a favorable demographic profile that supports a higher retail off take, continuous increase in capital expenditure by government and private industries, significant opportunities in largely untapped segments, growing investment avenues across all segments and the exponential growth of the Indian economy, this sector has emerged as the largest employer and will continue to be the most prominent sector in the coming future.

The financial services sector accounted for about 22,500 jobs in the year 2012.
