3. Amazon India:

Amazon is truly a pioneer. This online retail giant began operations in India in 2012 as Junglee.com. Most of its initial recruitments were on the managerial side and the focus was on technology and operations, as it was a fresh entrant into the Indian market.

The firm gets most of its management talent from IIMs and NITIE, and designates them as Manager–Operations or Program Managers. For its frontline requirements, it targets Tier 2/Tier 3 schools across pan India.

Being a multinational company, Amazon appears to be a great place to work, with most employees terming the work environment as fun. And motivational differences across locations and functional teams were some of the shortcomings.

Sluggish decision making and heavy dependence on processes also appear to be obstacles for the recruits to the company. But a large number of fresher entrants do consider the company to be a good training ground, especially for those who are interested in e-commerce. The company has a work force of around 69,100.
