3. Ask for a reference: In- order to search for the next job, you will have to put this job on your resume. Therefore, you should make sure that you get either a good or at least a neutral reference from the company, you are quitting. However, if you are leaving your job on unfavorable terms asking for a reference may sound odd. But if you are quitting your job for a less serious reason you must ask your manager for a reference.
