5.  United Kingdom–$18,428.24 per year



United Kingdom, which is popularly known as the first economy to industrialize, is the next entry in the list. It is slotted at the fifth position, thanks largely to a more than healthy pay that is in the range of $18,428.24 per year.



As per the law that was enacted in October 2011, a worker who is below 18 years of age and has completed compulsory education is entitled for a minimum pay of £3.68 per hour. Those between 18 to 20 years of age are eligible for a minimum wage of £4.98 per hour. This number catapults to £6.19 an hour once the person becomes 21 years old.



4.  Belgium–$18,813 per year



Enacted on 1st December 2012, Belgium’s minimum wage law covers the working population starting at the age of 21. As per the law, a 21 year old is entitled for a minimum pay €1,501.82 per month. Once a person becomes 21 years and six months old, his minimum wage go up by about €39.85 a month, provided that he has had at least six months of service already. Once an individual reaches 22 years of age, his average pay further increases and reach €1,559.38 per month, provided that he has had at least one year of service already.
