BENGALURU: After a gap of almost three years, the IITs are again bagging handsome packages, which count in crores. In IIT Delhi the highest package offered was 1.42 crores, which was clinched by two computer science students in the first week of the placement sessions as per The Hindu.

These two IITs got the offer from the social media giant, Facebook. According to the placement coordinator, Akshay malik, the placement season will be concluding within 20th December.

A lot of international offers, with technology companies offering 60 lakhs package were seen. Japanese companies, believed to be the first time recruiters also showed interests in many Indian offices. Many students though opted out for domestic jobs rejecting the international ones. IIT-Delhi Registrar, Rakesh kumar  said, “Some students rejected international offers including those with over $125,000 per annum as base pay this year, opting to accept offers from either the company’s counterparts in India or other firms with domestic offers on campus.”

The total number of offers that came to the campus within the first week of the placement session was around 600. The domestic pay package offered by the long time investors have also increased from 20 to 30 percent.

The companies that were much prominent among the offers were Flipkart, OlaCabs, Snapdeal, Zostel, Nutanix, VMock, One97 (PayTM), AM Marketplace (Limeroad) and SSN Logistics (delhivery).
