9. Jamia Millia Islamia

Established in 1920, Delhi based Jamia Millia Islamia University is an institution which was born out of a political crisis and as a political affront against the British raj in the country.

This university was set up by the nationalist Muslim leaders in British India and it was established with a view to project Indian Muslims as nationalist and anti British.
