BANGALORE: Engineering! Engineering! Engineering! A latest survey conducted by Payscale.com proved that bachelor’s degree in engineering is the best course to pursue which provides high paychecks and strong sense of purpose in the long run.
Payscale.com, conducted a survey to analyze the majors that guarantee a healthy starting salary along with potential for rapid growth. Engineering seems to be growing rapidly. This is good news to all the engineering grads as opportunities are surplus and growing.
Petroleum Engineering tops the list of highest paying jobs, which provide a median mid-career salary of $176,300. The next is another STEM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Math) subject, Actuarial Mathematics, with potential mid-career salary of $119,600.

Petroleum Engineering:
This is a field of engineering concerned with the activities related to the production of hydrocarbons, which can be either crude oil or natural gas. Exploration and production are deemed to fall within the upstream sector of the oil and gas industry.
Future of the world is bio-fuels anyway. Therefore, the world will continue to develop this field as much as possible. More importantly, it fetches high paying jobs as much as $176,300. So why not take it up?
