4. Kiran Mazumdar Shaw:



Kiran Mazumdar Shaw is the current Chairman and MD of the Biocon, a biotechnology company based in Bangalore. She completed her B-Sc from the Mount Carmel College, Bangalore University in the year 1973 and later completed her post graduation course [PG] in Malting and Brewing from the Ballarat College from the Melbourne University in the year 1975. After completing her PG, she started working as a trainee brewer in Carlton and United Breweries and also worked as technical consultant at Jupiter Breweries for some time in Kolkata and also served as a technical manager at Standard Maltings Corporation at Baroda between 1975 and 1977. After all these occupations she started Biocon in 1978.
