9. Data Warehouse Engineer



Data warehouse engineers are professionals who administer, plan, test and implement computer databases using their knowledge of database management systems.



Presently, these big data experts are in high demand and their pay packages are rising at a rapid pace.  As per Michael Kirven, the reason behind the demand for these professionals is mainly the heavy investment and the pursuit to drive top line revenues by some of the top corporate houses in this field. He also added that, CMOs for the first time are building their own big data departments’ that are independent of the CIO and this is driving up the salary rates.    



The average pay package for these professionals is approximately in the range of 1.99 lakh to 8.49 lakh per annum, as listed on the PayScale website.
