70 Pct Indians Find Jobs Through Referrals, Friends and Family: Survey

BANGALORE: In a fast growing economy, the country is trying to resolve all the unemployment problems. As the quality of education and the technology growth reflects in employment procedures it is recorded by the global management consulting firm Boston Consulting Group that the referrals from friends and family remains the most effective way of finding jobs, reports businesstodayin



According to the survey it is reported that 70 percent of the people who got employed in 2014 have got their jobs through referrals. The second most effective medium for finding jobs was surprise since print media got the spot. 9 percent people found their desired jobs using the print ads last year whereas 8 percent people got their jobs through internet portals.



The survey stated that "As India's Internet penetration continues to increase - it grew from 7.5 percent in 2010 to 18 percent in 2014 - we can see more job seekers shift to Internet-enabled electronic devices". In a global context 20 percent of employed people preferred to change their jobs and among them 33 percent used internet as their guides to reach their dream jobs.



As well as the overall enthusiasm for taking up a new job was mostly shown in India, China and South Africa with respective percent of 90, 79, and 80.
