One easy way to crack this brainteaser is with regard to the ‘Wheel of Fortune’.



Assume that you charge 20 cent per vowel. Since ‘Apple’ is a two-vowel word, it is charged 40 cents. Similarly, since ‘Banana’ is a three-vowel word and ‘Grapefruit’ is a four-vowel word, they would cost 60 cents and 80 cents, respectively. Therefore, since ‘Pear’ is a two-vowel word, it would cost 40 cents.
