BENGALURU: No job application is complete with out its cover letter. It is a single page letter, which makes the job application to stand out. It not only supports the resume but also gives quick details of a person who apply for the job. To help out the job aspirants, consider these 6 tips that can work best while making a cover letter, as compiled by College Recruiter.

Here are the 6 tips for a better cover letter:

Appropriate Greeting

Avoid using ‘To Whom It May Concern’, which doesn’t give a good impression to whom ever it is concerned to. Find out the person who is taking the interview which doesn’t take much time to do so. Address the right person or write ‘Dear Hiring Manager’ and so on to impress the employer.

Customize the Cover Letter

A company is concerned about what a person can do for it and nothing else. Prepare something that can express your interest to join the company and how well you are suitable for the job by writing your skills and qualifications.

Why the Company Should Hire You

Explain the employer why you want to be part of the company and how hiring you will advantage them. If you have any particular reasons to join the companies do mention it.

Be Positive

No employer will show interest about your drawbacks. Being genuine is what matters; still your cover letter should give no place to negativity and just give the best impression to the employer.

Include Action Verbs

This means you have to include your previous job description and designation, as these keywords are well noted by the employer.

Review Your Cover Letter

Go through the cover letter for any mistakes like spelling, grammar and punctuation. Proof reading will let you note your mistakes and correct it before you submit the cover letter.
