BENGALURU: Flipkart, Snapdeal, Quikr and other Indian ecommerce companies are eyeing to hire engineering graduates from top engineering institutes like IITs, NITs and so on, reports NDTV.

It’s good news to the top engineering college students as the most profitable ecommerce startups these days are in search of talented candidates with technology background. By the end of this year, Flipkart and Snapdeal plan to increase their technology team to 2,400 and 2,000 respectively.

In last year’s recruitment process, about 10 percent of IIT students joined such companies. This year, IITs in Delhi and Mumbai are expecting more ecommerce firms to visit the campuses for recruitment.

A student in charge of placement at IIT Bombay said, “The interest level among students to join startups is rising in IIT Bombay and the type of roles and work atmosphere offered by the startups is getting more compelling for students to join.”

Students believe that the roles offered by startups to freshers give them a scope to learn and get expertise in software, operations, business analysis and marketing.
