Farmers were once, almost literally, the backbone of the Indian economy, but that has changed in the recent past. According to BLS report, the farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural managers will see their workforce numbers decline by 19 percent by 2022. The cultural shift is seen as a major factor that is hindering the growth of this profession. Farmers are now willing to work in farms owned by corporations or selling them to industrials for fancy prizes. The profession simply doesn't have the appeal it once had in India and around the world.
