Soap Maker: Industrial age soap makers had it rough because the original recipe for soap making was just solidified and purified animal fat. Nowadays with technology coming in individuals have all sorts of different solutions to make soaps and even getting the fat to make these soaps isn’t such an ordeal. But back then if you wanted animal fat to turn into tallow you had to get it right from an animal. And any animal would do for that matter.
Moreover soap maker job involved high risk as individuals had to go through smell of boiled animal guts which was the first stage in the process. In the second and third stages of the process it was followed by reboiling of boiling guts, skimming off the fat until you got nice clean tallow. If individual weren’t careful during this process they could burn off their skin. There were also chances were individuals could go blind slowly from the gasses coming off the soap pan.
