# Encouraging entrepreneurship and self employment
The Indian government has seen the importance of entrepreneurship and self-employment, and has given space and platform to young in India.
As Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley said two-thirds of Indians are now below 35 years of age, thus to ensure that the young utilize their talents effectively towards their and country’s growth; An amount of 1,000 crore has been allocated for it initially.
Besides, he assured to help promote micro and small companies so that more jobs are created and called the government would “fund the unfunded”.
The budget proposed the setting up of a self-employment and talent utilization mechanism that will be a techno-financial incubation and facilitation programme to support all aspects of start-up businesses and other self-employment activities, particularly in technology-driven areas.
