3. Construction:

Construction sector is another winner during the post recession period. This sector has witnessed a wage growth of about 4.2 percent, with a median salary of approximately 2.02 – 8.01 lakhs per annum, as per PayScale website.

India is on the verge of witnessing a substantial growth in the infrastructure sector. The construction industry has been witness to a strong growth wave that is driven by large spending on roads, housing, water supply, ports, rail transport, and airport development. While the sector's growth has plummeted when compared to the pre 2008 period, it has managed picked up in the recent past.

As the construction market stages a comeback post recession, home construction has nearly doubled. This wage growth coupled with the increase in housing starts, are signs that the construction industry is healing from the devastation it had experienced.

The 1.3 percent pay hike, which the industry saw in the fourth quarter, was the biggest quarterly rise in four years.
