Outdoor Activities Instructor
If your idea of fun is playing in the great outdoors, opt to be an activities instructor, which could be a highly rewarding option. The job responsibilities as an activities instructor include leading people on activity or adventure trips such as trekking, canoeing, climbing, and abseiling, which could be part of a course for youth, probation services or corporate team-building exercise.
As an activity instructor you must be capable of getting on with all kinds of people, remain calm under pressure, plus have a good understanding of safety and risk management. These professionals will be responsible for everything starting from planning and preparing activities to suit the needs and abilities of a group, to demonstrating and instructing activities, and ensuring all equipment are safe.
While there are no specific requirements to enter this profession, you will have to demonstrate appropriate skill and experience in one or more activities in order to be recognized as a proficient outdoor activities instructor.
