Job #2: Desktop Publisher:  Print media and advertising is being taken over by the web, and that’s the reason why it is taking away a lot of business as well as job opportunities from desktop publishers.
A desktop publisher is professionals who use computer software to produce publication-ready material including brochures, financial reports, business proposals and so on. They format and combine text, numerical data, photographs, illustrations, charts and other visual graphic elements too.
As lot of people read books and magazines on their phones or tablets—this is more than enough to tell you where the desktop publishing profession is headed. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, more number of companies are increasingly handing off the tasks of desktop publishers to graphic and web designers. Due to this the employment in this field is expected to decline by 5 percent through 2022. A college degree in a related field or on the job experience will only increase one's chances of finding a job.
