Bangalore: In spite of recent budgetary concerns surrounding the so-called fiscal cliff, wages appear to be growing across pan India. And the year 2012 saw job seekers experiencing positive hiring and double digit pay hike, along with handsome bonuses, incentives and other perks.



The average workers wage in India is now screening the best growth in last 5 years and it appears that the media & publishing sector is leading the pack with a mini boom.



Here is a list of top sectors that saw the highest annual wage growth, as listed by CNNMoney on AOL.com based on the readings of the latest PayScale Index.



1. Media and Publishing:



The media and publishing industry took a beating during the economic meltdown. As a result of which the industry layoffs soared and employees including well-compensated television personalities and lesser paid newspaper bloggers suffered.



After this rough period that saw very minimal growth, the job opportunities in the media and publishing industry caught fire and this sector witnessed the highest annual growth in wages in the year 2012.



In addition, the innovations in technology and the internet have turned the media world upside down, and have created unlimited opportunities.



The publishing and media industries has now become a popular choice among graduates who recognize this sector as the one that offers numerous opportunities to develop ideas and be creative, often getting a huge quantity of job satisfaction. Also this sector is viewed as an exhilarating environment to work in and as a consequence, employment opportunities are fiercely contested.



This sector witnessed a growth hike of 4.6 percent with a median pay of approximately 91,230 – 9, 31,288 per annum, as per PayScale website.
