Jan Koum definitely is a rags-to-riches story in the purest sense. He started off as a floor sweeper at a grocery store, to help his mom with the expenses.
He drove to a spot across the street from the former North County Social Services where he used to get food stamps to do it, when signed a deal to sell Whatsapp to Facebook for $19 BN.
