The Mercer survey found out three major results:

1. Men seemed more out of balance than women:

It was very much surprising that more than men, it was women who responded that they were able to maintain a healthy balance between their professional and personal lives. This was literally surprising because usually, it was women who were suppose to find it more difficult than men as they were the home makers, and they were responsible to take care of their children.

2. Many responded that the workload is too much:

Even though many responded that they still felt their work is reasonable, majority of the respondents felt that their workload is heavier.

3. Employees preferred flexibility:

As mentioned before, it was women and young workers who gave more importance to flexibility at work because they thought that it played a major role in their levels of motivation and engagement. But, at present, only three in five U.S. workers have flexibility at work.
