Bangalore: Good news folks! Telecom giant Vodafone India is all set to go on a hiring spree at various campuses in the country, reports Shreya Roy of ET Bureau.

As per the latest revelations, the telecom company has gradually increased the enrollment of management trainees and plans to step up the intake from technology campus, specifically targeting the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). It also plans to give a greater emphasis to succession planning and creating a leadership pipeline, and the much anticipated summer internship programme for tech students, which is expected to be launched this year, will be a great step in this direction.

Speaking about the increased intake of talent, Ramchandran, Director, Human Resources, Vodafone India, was quoted saying, "Two years ago, we were taking just 25-30 people. Focus on investing in more freshers who can be groomed for top roles are becoming a secular trend in telecom", reports the Economic Times.

And he added that, "Time to success is much lower; cost of failure is much higher. You need a pool of young people with fresh ideas and steeper learning curves ready to take on leadership roles in the next two to three years".
