Urban Ladder's Out-of-the-box Workforce Management Strategies
BENGALURU: Urban Ladder, an online marketplace for furniture and home decor products, believes in empowering its employees and growing its in-house talent, rather than just hiring and giving a set of roles and responsibilities.
With the introduction of its 'EnabUL programme', Urban Ladder is grooming its new managers with people management, goal setting and time management skills. The company is also rewarding the new candidates that have shown great potential and results in handling critical situations.
"With over 60 percent of our workforce (650 employees) coming in over the last one year, we realized there is need to put in place a learning and development program that is able to uniformly address all developmental needs of teams," says Rajiv Srivatsa, Co-Founder, Urban Ladder.
With women comprising 38 percent of the company's workforce, Urban Ladder is strategically focusing on mentoring its women employees, particularly at the mid-level, helping them tackle the work-life challenges.
"We ensure we spend time coaching and mentoring, and work towards keeping our one-on-one connection intact with the team. We make ourselves available as sounding boards, problem solvers, coaches and mentors whenever someone needs us," says Srivatsa.
