Travel E-Commerce Companies Are Likely To Employee 1,500 People within a Year

BANGALORE: As the numbers of startups are increasing, the competition in the market is also getting higher. In the recent years we have over seen the growth of number of startups in the country. Although there is an entrepreneurial growth in the country, many startups seem to struggle in the market.



But the travel ecommerce portals have a different story to tell. As more people are engaging themselves in to exploring the aspects of travel, these online portals and apps are succeeding in their purpose. Thus half a dozen of such travel e-commerce portals are reported to be hiring more than 1,500 employees within a year reports, Economic Times.



As the competition is getting tougher the travel e-commerce giants like Yatra, MakeMyTrip and Cleartrip are gearing up with more technical support. These websites are focusing on developing a strong technology team and attracts the crowd by giving offers on holiday packages as well as air tickets.



Ashish Kashyap the CEO of ibiboGroup that owns Goibibo.com said, "We are adding another 300 people in the next 6 months to our current headcount of 600. The additions will mostly take place in the business development and technology side."  Whereas the CEO and co-founder of startup TravelTriangle Sankalp Agarwal said, "The Indian travel and tourism industry is expected to cross the $2-billion mark in the next 4-5 years and we intend to be the top performer. We have grown our headcount by more than 500 pct since this May to 260 people and intend to be over 500 in the next five months."
