Bangalore: Can we learn something from how other countries treat their working class? Well discovering the perfect balance between work, family and spare time is one of the key ways to find happiness in life. But not all countries are created equal when it comes to nurturing that balance.



However, you’ll be surprised to see that U.S. lags far behind most other Western nations with regards to the kind of free time it affords to its employees. For instance, majority of European nations have made mandate paid vacation or holiday time for their workers, while the U.S. has no such mandate. The truth is even harsher when it comes to paid maternity leave. The United States, along with Papua New Guinea and Swaziland, are the only countries in the world that do not provide any form of maternity leave.



Here's the list of the 10 best countries in the world with regards to work life balance, which is based on assessment  of vacation time and parental leave, as reported by Bryan Nelson of Mother Nature Network.
