The main objective of a network administrator is to oversee computer networks, and ensure that they operate smoothly and at the peak of their abilities. They are responsible for everything right from installing to managing and supporting the computer networks and other systems that keep information flowing across a medium. Network administrators play a central role in the maintenance and implementation of network software and hardware. They also resolve network related issues, and ensure that the availability, network security and performance standards are not degraded.



As per the BLS repost, the job opportunities in this field are projected to rise by 28 percent over the next decade. And the fact that this is a recession-proof that provides a stable earning potential at all times, add to the attractiveness of this profession.   



A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information science is essential to gain entry into this field. And as per the PayScale website, the annual wage for these professionals is approximately 1.20 lakh to 6.10 lakh.
