Chennai, the fourth largest metropolitan and third largest commercial & industrial centers in India, is fourth on the list of top job created Indian cities in 2012. The economy of Chennai has a broad industrial base starting from computers, automobiles and technology to healthcare industries and hardware manufacturing. This vibrant city is the second largest exporter of IT (Information Technology) and BPO (Business Process Outsourcing), and provides tremendous job opportunities to its inhabitants. It is often referred to as the Detroit of India, as a major chunk of automobile manufacturing industry is based in and around the capital city of the Southern state of Tamil Nadu. And unsurprisingly, every year a large number of people migrate to Chennai in a quest to land high paying jobs and better career opportunities. Chennai is ranked fourth in hosting the maximum number of Fortune 500 companies of India, behind Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata.
