2. Puzzles:



Puzzles and other brainteasers all set to screen how one candidate thinks out of the box.



Examples:



a. You’re playing football on a desert island and want to toss a coin to decide the advantage.  The only coin you’ve got is bent and seriously biased. How can you use it to make a fair decision?



b. You’ve got a stalk of pennies as high as the empire State Building. Can you fit all the pennies in one room?



c. You have eight balls all of the same size… 7 of them weigh the same, and one of them weighs slightly more. How can you find the ball that is heavier by using a balance and only two weighing?



 



 



3. Problem Solving:



Problem solving needs many skills as it asks you to integrate your intelligence, analytical skills and creativity to solve them.



Examples:



a. How many golf balls can fit in a school bus?



b. How much should you charge to wash all the windows in Seattle?



c. Every family continues to have children until they have a boy. If they have a girl, they have another child. If they have a boy, they stop. What is the proportion of boys to girls in the country?



d. What is the probability of breaking a stick into 3 pieces and forming a triangle?
