5. Jeffrey Papows, president of IBM's software maker Lotus Development: Jeffrey Papows, also came into limelight for falsehood that he has mentioned about his academic and military background. According to Jon Auerbach of ZDNet,  Jeffrey stated that he was pilot but in reality he was an air traffic controller moreover he said that he was a captain, whereas he was a first lieutenant in the Marines, in reality. This is not the end of his lies, he also claimed that he earned his PhD degree from Pepperdine University, infact he did it from unaccredited correspondence school. In spite of so many lies that came into publicity, Jeffrey managed to keep his position intact with the company. However, the CNN report said that he resigned the next year after he was named in a sexual discrimination criticism.
