Top Countries In Sending Students To The U.S.

India stands in the second position for the students opting to study in the United states. U.S. Consul General, Jennifer A. McIntyre said that Indian students are in higher number in various educational institutions around and makes up for 12 percent of the total foreign student population in the U.S. It emerges as the most preferred destination for Indian students for their higher studies.



This is because; the U.S. is a very welcoming nation due to its varied opportunities offered to the students. With top universities and colleges in America, over one lakh Indian students are enrolled in various programs this year.



 # South Korea



According to the U.S news education magazine, Students from South Korea are being sent in large numbers to the U.S. for the past 20 years, says Peggy Blumenthal, senior counselor to the president at the Institute of International Education. Many of them are teaching at South Korean universities today.



International students are drawn to California where more than 100,000 international students enrolled for the second year in a row. New York came in second for the top U.S. states with international students followed by Texas, Massachusetts and Illinois.
