9. Indian Armed Force [IAF]:
The IAF are the military forces of the Republic of India that consists of Indian Army, Navy, Air Force and Indian Coasr Guard which are supported by the Paramilitary forces like the Assam Rifles and Special Frontier Force and various other inter-service institutions like the Strategic Forces Command.
The President of India is considered as the Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces and it is been managed by Ministry of Defence, led by Union Cabinet Minister of Defense.
The IAF have around 1,325,000 active personnel serving as of 2012 and also consist of 2,142,821 reserve personnel in it.
8. Indian Railways:
Indian railways can be considered as the second largest employer in India after the Indian Armed Forces. This is a state-owned enterprise that is owned and operated by the central government through the Railway Ministry.
Indian railways have around 1.4 million employees working in it, as per the BBC 2012 ranking of the World’s largest employers.
