# The Krishna P. Singh Center for Nanotechnology at the University of Pennsylvania is a stunning architectural design with a planted roof and transparent front appearance.

It is designed by Weiss-Manfredi, and the team worked on the building in a way that it keeps away the vibrations and loud noises from the nearby subway station, so the building can be a peaceful environment for students. The building houses a large existing suite of high-performance equipment for nanotechnology research, including electron and scanning probe microscopy, clean room tools, electron beam lithography, and several materials synthesis and characterization instruments. It also includes substantial space for new cutting-edge equipments such as the first aberration-corrected, energy-filtered microscope (ACEM) to be installed in the Greater Philadelphia area. Apart from housing the laboratories, the building also holds a courtyard, public galleria, forum space, and conference rooms of high standards.

# Known as Silver Mountain and Red Cliff respectively, the pair of buildings provides a spectacular view in the campus at the Senzoku Gakuen College of Music in Kawasaki, Japan. The building is created by Japanese studio K/O Design Studio and is a bulbous silver building adjoining a red-tiled rectangular tower. Silver Mountain has new rehearsal halls, while the Red Cliff tower contains offices, and faculty and student lounges. The exterior of the Silver Mountain is clad in stainless steel plates in a pattern developed using 3D surface analysis to determine the most efficient combination of standard rectilinear tiles and irregular panels used to fill the gaps.
