'Stress In Working Women Emerges As Key Risk Factor Behind Heart Diseases'

The cardiologists brought home the point that young people, particularly women, should look for ways to bust stress and cope with it effectively. There should not be any apprehensions, they said, for visiting a psychiatrist and seek professional help to deal with stress and any form of depression.



The cardiologists also discussed latest developments and equipment that have potential to revolutionize cardiac care. Latest advances include hand-held ECHO machine that can be taken to rural areas where healthcare is a major challenge.



By the year 2020, over 40 per cent deaths in India are likely to be caused due to cardiovascular diseases. The greatest minds in heart care from all over the world converged here as ‘Revolutionary Cardiac Therapies: Setting Benchmarks for the Future’, the two-day mega conclave, that opened today.
