"These transitions have happened before," said Carl Benedikt Frey, co-author of the study and a research fellow at the Oxford Martin Programme on the Impacts of Future Technology. "What's different this time is that technological change is happening even faster, and it may affect a greater variety of jobs," reports Times of India.



Some of these smart software are transforming the world of manual labor into automation but it doesn’t draw conclusions that there will be complete eradication of workers. Certainly there will be work for people who can generate quality information, think critically, and be flexible in how they act in different situations. Workers will more likely need to find more complex tasks that machines can't do or capitalize on. And these positions will also require some thorough schooling. So ultimately it all comes down to the battle between technology and education.
