Rise in Demand For Media & Entertainment Professionals

BENGALURU: All you media veterans out there here comes the time where your wanted again, so gear up! ET reports that the demand for professionals in media and entertainment has increased this year.



TimesJobs. Com recruitment index reported a 5 percent increase in demand professions in this field. More so the highest demand is for professionals with 20 years of experience. All the media houses and entertainment companies are now looking out to hire more talent into the organization. The requirement for candidates with 20 years of experience has 36 percent of share of total jobs. Figures followed by professionals with 10-20 years of experience who have 22 percent of total demand for jobs.  



The rise in demand for media professionals has been increasing from January 2015. The overall industry average stands at 1 percent. There is also a rise in demand for entry and mid-level professionals in media.



The TimesJobs data also observes that over 60 percent of demand for media and entertainment comes from metros and Mumbai claiming the highest of 31 percent share of jobs during April 2015, flowed by Delhi NCR. On the other hand these professionals topped the demand preference in Mumbai and Bangalore.



While Delhi NCR has the second highest, 20 percent share of media professionals. Among Tier I and Tier II locations Hyderabad, Pune and Ahmedabad saw  the highest share of jobs for media professionals.



Followed by media and entertainment field, PR, advertising and event management are the largest employment generators. IT, telecom and sales, business development were the other key profiles that reported a higher increase in talent demand by 2 percent compared to the industry average between January-April 2015.
