Astronomer



Astronomers are scientists who study celestial objects such as stars, galaxies, planets and other extraterrestrial phenomenon’s. This is an ideal career for individuals who love gazing at stars and are passionate about learning about the universe and beyond, but wish to keep their feet firmly on the ground.



The job description of Astronomers includes to observe, develop, measure and to interpret theories that explain celestial activities using complex mathematics. Similar to astronauts, a potential astronomer has to carry out extensive study and gain the necessary experience to enter into this field. Most of the astronomers have a PhD in astronomy or physics and are employed by scientific research firms, government agencies or universities.



Excessive competition, small number of openings and enormous brain power that is necessary to enter into this field, has made this profession one of the hardest to get into.
