Online Hiring Rises 11 Per Cent In January This Year

A sector-wise analysis shows that the IT/Telecom sector emerged as the top employment generator in January 2015 with a 19 per cent rise in demand and on an average this sector has witnessed 9 per cent rise in demand during November-January 2015 period.
Other bullish sectors included logistics and warehousing, which reported 14 per cent rise in hiring, followed by healthcare at 12 per cent and automobile and consumer durables/FMCG at 11 per cent. The report added that demand for senior professionals has witnessed a significant uptrend. Demand for candidates with less than 2 and 2-5 years of experience reported an eight per cent rise, while the demand for candidates with over 20 years of experience witnessed a 14 per cent jump.
City-wise, Bengaluru registered an average growth of 19 per cent in January 2015. Other metros too reported growth in hiring in January 2015 while among tier II locations Chandigarh tops the chart with 17 per cent rise in demand, it added.
