NITI Aayog: 36 Pct Pay Up To Woo Young Talents Up To 32 Years

BANGALORE: NITI Aayog is now planning to increase the offered salary up to 36 percent to draw young talented professionals up to the age limit of 32 years.

The government aims to bring younger people for the purpose of policy making to stand for in replacement of Erstwhile Planning Commission and as per the revised guideline, Aayog is said to fix its salary at Rs 40,000-70,000 per month which includes transport allowance along with an annual hike of Rs 5,000, reports ET.

This attempt is 27-36 percent more in comparison to erstwhile commission.  The Aayog said in an advertisement to motivate applicants for the program, "NITI Aayog seeks to engage 20 Young professionals with an aptitude for public policy and development under the Young Professionals Programme."

After the commission revised the guidelines for young professionals last year, the revision resulted in a 2o pct hike in salaries. This concept was first introduced in 2009 by the then, deputy chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia. The young professionals under this commission also received a settlement which included transport allowance comprising AC train fare, a daily allowance of Rs 750 if they travelled abroad for work related projects.

A senior official at the Aayog said, "Though the current advertisement is for hiring 20 Young professionals only, we may see the number go up as the work flows in.” ET had also reported earlier that NDA government led by Narendra Modi was planning to raise the income as well all the general young professionals at Aayog in an attempt to restructure exercise. With Modi in charge, a revised guideline has changed the commission with Aayog at the beginning of this year. This institution is all set to employ the first batch of young professionals under the present government
